Bandar Seri Begawan, 24 April 2012 - the contract signing ceremony for Consultancy Services For Formulation And Implementation of Global Air Navigation Plan for CNS/ATM System And Associated Services for Department of Civil Aviation, Brunei Darussalam between the Government of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Integra A/S/Jurutera Perunding RCS, took place at the Asy-Syuura Room, Terminal Building, Brunei International Airport, Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Communications.

Guest of Honour during the event was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Minister of Communications. Signing on behalf of His Majesty's Government was Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Communications, Dato Paduka Haji Awang Alaihuddin Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohammad Taha and the Director of Civil Aviation, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Omarali bin Haji Mohd Ja'afar as witness, meanwhile on behalf of Integra A/S/Jurutera Perunding RCS was the project manager, Mr Jon Gunnlaugsson and Mr Abdul Rahman from Jurutera Perunding RCS as witness.

Minister of Communications and Chairman of BEDB visited Brunei International Airport's project area

Bandar Seri Begawan, Thursday, 16 February 2012: The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) have announced that major construction works on the modernization of Brunei International Airport terminal would get underway soon. To ensure the smooth operations of the airport during the construction period, the BEDB and DCA will be implementing several measures, which will involve the closure of the Public Arrival Hall, relocation of public parking P1 in front of the terminal building and traffic diversion to P2 parking space for all traffic heading to the Airport Terminal Building. The use of the relocated/rediverted facilities will commence on 7 March 2012.

A new interim ‘Meeters and Greeters’ hall and a temporary arrival canopy will be opened for public convenience. Road signages will be put up to direct traffic to the new designated areas and traffic wardens will be mobilized to ensure motorists are properly directed to the new parking area. Public notices will be put up at strategic locations around the airport terminal from 18 February 2012.
The BEDB and DCA would like to seek public cooperation and understanding while encouraging outbound passengers to plan their travel & departures carefully. Both agencies will also ensure that the public and other stakeholders will be informed in advance of any other major works undertaken at the airport.

“DCA is working closely with BEDB and the contractor to ensure these changes are implemented smoothly and with minimum disruptions to members of the public. Some of these changes are temporary to make way for permanent and better facilities to be constructed” said Pg Hj Mohd Zain bin Pg Hj Abdul Razak, Acting Director of DCA.
